Eve brings Matter support to Eve Shutter Switch
Munich, Germany – October 28, 2025 – Eve Systems, a leading provider of smart home devices and part of ABB, today announced the availability of the Matter version of its smart shutter controller Eve Shutter Switch. Eve Shutter Switch converts existing in-wall roller shutter switches into a smart shading solution – now completely platform-independent and interoperable thanks to Matter certification. The product is available from Eve and soon at Amazon for 99.95 euros. Owners of the current generation will soon receive a free firmware upgrade that adds Matter support, enabling cross-platform integration.

Seamlessly integrated thanks to Matter
The switch offers the convenience of smart shading exactly the way users want it – via voice, app, or on the switch itself. With support for the Matter standard, it doesn't matter which voice assistant is used in the home. Eve Shutter Switch can be easily controlled via Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant. In addition, supported home hubs can activate the roller shutters automatically, i.e., at specific times or by presence. For example, roller shutters can be raised at sunrise on weekdays – automatically and conveniently. Scenes can be used to synchronize them with other connected devices, allowing you to cleverly adapt your home to your everyday routine.
Eve Shutter Switch is “made in Germany” and fits into existing 55 mm frames. As a permanently powered device, Eve Shutter Switch enhances stability and reach of the home’s Thread network.
Security and energy efficiency
Remote access options provide additional security. If you want to simulate presence when away from home, you can control your roller shutters from your mobile device or set up automations that do it for you. And in the cold season, Eve Shutter Switch can automatically close shutters at the right time to help save heating costs. iPhone and iPad users benefit from additional features in the Eve app: They can create autonomous schedules and program Eve Shutter Switch to automatically darken rooms during the day according to the position of the sun, using the configurable “Adaptive Shading” feature.
Free Matter firmware upgrade for existing devices
Owners of an Eve Shutter Switch will soon receive an optional, free firmware upgrade via the Eve app for iPhone and iPad to activate Matter support. This means that the devices can be controlled not only with Apple Home, but also with Android, Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings, and Home Assistant.
