The home hub: An essential device for HomeKit-enabled accessories
Whether you connect to your HomeKit accessories via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or Thread, your connected home is simply incomplete without a home hub – an Apple TV or HomePod. Your home hub gives you both secure access to your accessories while you’re on the go and enables you to set up automations.

When will the Eve Energy UK become available?- Reply
Hello Jek! The first shipment of the Thread enabled Eve Energy (UK) was sold out pretty fast. Due to Brexit it will take a while, until we have stock again. It should be available by the end of the month. Best regards, Volker- Reply

Hallo Eve-Supporter, Winter is coming.

The new AppleTV 4k has a thread radio. When will we be able to use it with our EVE devices as we can the Homepod mini?- Reply
Hello Nic! Once you have the new Apple TV 4K at home, it will - out of the box. Best regards, Volker- Reply
Should we be able to see the AppleTV in the Thread Network section on the EveHome app?- Reply
Hello Eugine! To see it in Thread Network a powered Eve accessory with Thread is required, it the US this is Eve Energy (US,2020). Best regards, Volker- Reply
Hi, I bought an EVE Aqua and installed it, next I added a brand new Apple TV 4K, on both devices Inupdated firmware Tv OS 14.6 and Eve Aqua firmware 2.1(2781) i enabled Thread Transport status to check if Thread is used. Thread is used and status was disabled on AquaWhen I put the Aqua indoors close to the Apple TV it got enabled and status child. When I later put Aqua outdoors in garden it kept connected over thread. So it works thanks Stefan

Hello Stefan! I sometimes takes a while until a new Thread network is established. Other than the HomePod mini the new Apple TV 4K has some hicks so some of the customers. Best regards, Volker- Reply
Hi, to clarify, do we need a powered Eve device to see the Apple TV4K in the Eve app Thread Network section? I have an Eve weather as well as 3 Nanoleaf essential bulbs. These 4 devices show in the Thread Network tab but there is no sign of the Apple TV. I'm wondering the thread network is enabled as response time seems slow for the bulbs. Thanks

This is correct. We need it in Eve to explore the complete Thread network. You can check Thread functionality as well with this tool: the app Discovery on iOS (https://apps.apple.com/de/app/discovery-dns-sd-browser/id305441017) or the version for the Mac (https://apps.apple.com/de/app/discovery-dns-sd-browser/id1381004916?mt=12). In the app at _hap._udp. you will find the Thread devices, at _meshcop._udp. your Thread Border Router (HomePod mini and/or Apple TV 4K 2021).Best regards, Volker

I believe I have some how turned the thread capability off on my eve door sensor as it only connects via bluetooth now. Is there a way to turn it back on?- Reply
Hello Daniel! The Thread capability can't be turned on or off. Please reboot the HomePod mini and check again. If not please open a ticket in support: https://www.evehome.com/en/support/ticketBest regards, Volker

Are Eve considering applying for Matter certification (formerly CHIP) for their most recently launched products ? (In essence, i am wondering if there is the potential that Eve products may eventually become available across other platforms such as alexa and google home).- Reply
Hello David! This was just a name change from CHIP to Matter. We were member and are. There is no certification or products as of today from no vendor. Best regards, Volker- Reply

Generation:Firmware update for Thread support coming soon, requires a HomePod mini

https://www.evehome.com/de/identify-your-eve-accessory

Two questions: is Thread implemented on Australian smart plug or will it be in future? And: Can Eve devices use the Nest Wifi as a Thread edge router?
Thanks

Hello Tim! The current generation of Eve Energy (AU) is not ready for Thread. We will be releasing new hardware generations of many Eve devices with Thread support later this year, but unfortunately can't give any further details on when this will be the case for Eve Energy (AU) at this time. Here's a list of all the currently available Thread-enabled Eve accessories:
https://www.evehome.com/de/identify-your-eve-accessory
The only Thread border Routers for HomeKit are the HomePod mini and the upcoming Apple TV 4K.
Best regards, Volker

Volker, My question is, based on the above does the Eve Energy (AU) model expect to gain Thread support via firmware update sometime in the future OR is the current Eve Energy (AU) model not able support Thread at all and will never get a Thread firmware update and we would have to wait for Eve to release a complete new device that supports Thread. Thanks, Stephen- Reply
Hello Stephen! Was a differnt strory that time. The Eve Energy (EU) already came with the radio for IPv6 on the chipset, just needed a firmware update. The Eve Energy (AU) is from 2016 and missing this radio Thread needs. So there won't be a firmware update as it would not help. There will be a new model. Best regards, Volker- Reply
Guys, the new Apple TV 4K officially has Thread support (see in Apple's website), will this mean that when this new device will be available in mid May, eve will support it automatically?- Reply
Hello Janek! Sure we will. Our Thread enabled accessories support/use all Thread Border Router (HomePod mini, new Apple TV 4K). Best regards, Volker- Reply
