Hello Rob! Eve Cam uses an infrared motion sensor, so it may detect you even when not in but "See" the movement. As all cameras using HomeKit Secure Video (HKSV) Eve cam can only use the integrated motion detector as a trigger for recording&streaming and notifications. No "external" triggers allowed as of today by Apple. And only Apple could change that. Best regards, Volker
